I wish you to all a happy and creative new year 2013. Last year ended here after a big week of holiday where I spent all my time away from my studio and my computers. I took a lot of pleasure with friends and family, and also doodling on my free time with a black ball-pen on my A5 sketchbook.
thx. I recommend Wacom, for compatibility on Linux , and the A5 size. My favorite model is the Intuos4 A5 ( Medium ), not a new one ; but solid. Surely something to buy from ebay or equivalent. Bamboos are also fine and less expensive.
I hope you don't mind me asking you here, but I am planning to purchase a Wacom Intuos 5 M, with or without touch, which I'm not absolutely sure about. I did not find any satisfactory answers all over the web. I'm currently using Ubuntu 12.10, GIMP 2.8 and Krita 2.5. I'm hoping you can answer me the following questions in brief:
Will the 60 degree tilt functionality be able to control the brush angle in above programs (I'd like to control the angle of a knife or flat brush)? Is the touch functionality supported within Ubuntu 12.10? Is the touch functionality interfering with any other functions in painting software? I've seen random spots, lines or other "mis-behaviour" when repeatedly lifting and resting my hand on the surface of the tablet while painting.
Thank you very much in advance! You are a great inspiration to me, on technical and artistic side!
Merci pour ton dernier article sur les nouveautés de MyPaint, fort intéressant et instructif.
What kind of tablet would you recommend for someone who's never used krita? I want to start using it and are thinking if buying a tablet soon.
